Natasha Osawaru, wife of Nigerian singer 2Baba and a lawmaker in Edo State, has declared her ambition to become president of Nigeria someday.
The Edo State lawmaker made the statement during the 92nd birthday celebration of her grandfather, Gabriel Igbinedion, in Benin City.
In a video from the celebration that has gone viral, Natasha praised her grandfather and expressed her admiration for spending time with him, referring to him affectionately as her “baby.”
She then promised to work towards becoming Nigeria’s president before her grandfather passes away.
“You are amazing, you are like my baby right now, I love you so much. As you age, you become sweeter and better, it is so amazing to be around you grandpa. I promise you that I will be the president of this country before you go,” she said.
Natasha, who represents the Egor constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, was recently appointed minority leader of the Assembly.
Speaking about the appointment, she described the position as more than a title, saying it represents a responsibility and trust.
Natasha married 2Baba in July 2025 following the singer’s separation from his former wife, Annie Macaulay Idibia. The couple held a dedication ceremony for their first child together in February.
Amid the public attention surrounding their relationship, 2Baba has repeatedly maintained that Natasha was not responsible for the breakdown of his marriage to Annie.
