Singer Chris Brown has suffered a legal setback after a Los Angeles judge ruled that his former housekeeper, Maria Avila, can collect a $13 million judgment from income linked to his ongoing tour with Usher.
According to court documents cited by TMZ, the judge approved Avila’s request to take a portion of Brown’s tour earnings and royalty income until the judgment is satisfied.
Brown had opposed the move, but the judge rejected his objection.
It is not yet clear whether the singer will ask the court to reconsider the decision or appeal the ruling.
The case dates back to a 2020 incident at Brown’s Los Angeles home, involving a dog attack.
Earlier this year, a jury found Brown liable over the incident and awarded Avila a multimillion-dollar judgment following her lawsuit.
Brown has denied wrongdoing in the case.
