Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has spoken candidly about her weight-loss journey, revealing that despite losing almost 90kg, she continues to face body shaming online.
In a heartfelt post shared on Instagram, the actress disclosed that she weighed 170kg five years ago but now weighs 83kg, describing the transformation as one of the most difficult experiences of her life.
According to Badmus, the remarkable change did not happen overnight but came through years of discipline, sacrifice, consistency and prioritising her health.
“Five years ago, I weighed 170KG. Today, in 2026, I weigh 83KG. That didn’t happen overnight. It took years of discipline, sacrifice, pain, consistency, tears, setbacks, and choosing my health every single day,” she wrote.
The actress expressed disappointment that the same people who criticised her when she was plus-sized are now mocking her after losing weight.
“The same people who body-shamed me when I was plus-size are the same people body-shaming me now that I’ve lost the weight. What exactly do you want from me?” she asked.
Badmus explained that losing such a significant amount of weight naturally changes the body’s appearance, adding that she is doing her best to stay healthy by taking care of her skin and overall well-being.
She admitted that although she rarely responds to negative comments, the hurtful remarks still affect her.
“Just because I don’t respond to the insults doesn’t mean they don’t hurt… I’m human. Words have consequences,” she said.
The actress also appealed to women to support one another instead of engaging in body shaming.
“Nobody deserves to be bullied for being plus-size, and nobody deserves to be bullied for losing weight either,” she added.
Badmus encouraged people to focus on celebrating determination and resilience rather than criticising others’ appearance.
The actress previously revealed that she underwent gastric bypass surgery in Turkey to help control her eating habits and has often shared her weight-loss journey to inspire others struggling with similar challenges.
