Controversial Nigerian singer Speed Darlington, popularly known as Akpi, has sparked conversations online after opening up about his desire to settle down and start a family.
In a recent video, the entertainer admitted that despite his achievements, he feels something important is still missing from his life as he grows older.
The rapper expressed concern over the fact that he is yet to get married or have children, saying he wants more than just the opportunities that come with living abroad.
“I am close to 60 with no wife or child. Is this how I am going to live my life? All I have to show is American papers. I want more than American papers out of life. I want family, freedom and respect,” he said.
His emotional remarks have reignited discussions about his long-standing search for a life partner.
A few years ago, Speed Darlington publicly revealed the qualities he wanted in a wife, stating that she should be dark-skinned, between 18 and 23 years old, at least 5 feet 8 inches tall, weigh less than 150 pounds, and be fluent in both English and Igbo.
Despite making his preferences known, the outspoken musician has yet to find a life partner.
