The mother of late Nollywood star Alexx Ekubo has shared a touching tribute in honour of her son, describing his death as a heartbreaking loss that has left a deep void in her life.
Evangelist Jane Mmerechi Ekubo-Okwaraeke poured out her emotions in a tribute published during the actor’s burial ceremony in Arochukwu, Abia State, revealing how much she misses his presence, encouragement and daily conversations.
The grieving mother said she still longs for the phone calls, messages, prayers and support she once received from her son, whose death shocked fans and colleagues across the entertainment industry.
“Losing such a precious son is a pain beyond human understanding.”
In her heartfelt message, she described Alexx as a loving son who remained devoted to God and lived a life that positively impacted many people.
She recalled raising him in the Christian faith and expressed gratitude that he remained committed to his beliefs throughout his life.
According to her, the outpouring of love and tributes from friends, fans and well-wishers has brought comfort to the family during this difficult period.
The late actor was remembered as humble, resilient and generous, qualities many admirers have also highlighted since news of his passing emerged.
Alexx Ekubo died on May 11, 2026, at the age of 40 after battling advanced kidney cancer, according to family sources.
Though gone, his mother said his memories will remain forever in her heart.
