Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured victory in the ward of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate, Ambassador Dare Bejide, in the ongoing Ekiti State governorship election.
Results from Polling Unit 004, Ward 2 in Ekiti South-West Local Government Area showed Oyebanji defeating the ADC candidate on his home turf.
According to the results, the APC candidate polled 140 votes, while Bejide secured 37 votes. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) recorded just two votes at the polling unit.
The result gives the APC an early boost as collation continues across the state.
Bejide, who hails from Ward 2, contested the election on the platform of the ADC but was unable to secure victory in the polling unit announced.
