Nigerian music sensation Ayra Starr has admitted that her life could have taken a very different path if she had not broken into the music industry.
The award-winning singer revealed that without music, she believes she would likely be unemployed and still living a quiet life at home with her family.
Speaking during a recent interview, Ayra Starr reflected on her journey to stardom and how signing with Mavin Records transformed her future.
“If I were not doing music, I would literally be unemployed,” she said.
The singer jokingly added that she probably would not have become a content creator either, saying she would simply be “vibing” and enjoying life at her mother’s house.
Ayra Starr also recalled the excitement she felt when she discovered that Don Jazzy and the Mavin Records team had been listening to her songs before offering her a record deal.
According to the 24-year-old star, it was a dream moment that helped launch her successful career.
She further opened up about the downside of fame, admitting that she sometimes shares too much about herself during interviews.
The singer said she occasionally wishes the public knew less about her because she tends to speak freely whenever cameras are around.
Since joining Mavin Records in 2020, Ayra Starr has grown into one of Africa’s biggest music stars, earning international recognition through hit songs, successful albums and major award nominations.
Today, she remains one of the leading voices pushing Afrobeats to a global audience.
