The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has officially unveiled Alhaja Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun as the running mate to its governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), ahead of the 2027 election.
Adegunwa-Balogun, a chartered accountant and daughter of prominent industrialist Chief Adebola Adegunwa, was formally presented during the APC Strategic Caucus Meeting in Abeokuta after party leaders ratified her nomination.
Her emergence follows the party’s decision to zone the deputy governorship position to Ogun East Senatorial District, specifically Ijebu Central Federal Constituency.
The 51-year-old currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director of Finance and Administration at Rite Foods Limited, bringing decades of corporate leadership and financial management experience to the ticket.
Governor Dapo Abiodun praised party members for maintaining unity throughout the primary elections, noting that the APC successfully produced candidates without major crises or disputes despite having over 700 aspirants.
According to him, the peaceful consensus process demonstrated political maturity and strengthened the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
Senator Adeola also expressed confidence in his running mate, describing her as a competent professional with the experience and leadership qualities needed to support effective governance.
In her acceptance speech, Adegunwa-Balogun described the nomination as a call to service and pledged to bring integrity, accountability, and her extensive leadership experience to public office.
She said the opportunity represents a platform to promote greater inclusion of women, youths, and grassroots communities in governance while ensuring that development reaches all parts of Ogun State.
