President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration remains committed to defeating terrorism and rebuilding the country, saying the difficult reforms introduced over the past three years are already beginning to produce positive results.
The President made this known in his Eid-el-Kabir message to Muslims in Nigeria and across the world as they celebrate the Islamic festival.
In the statement, Tinubu called on Nigerians to embrace the values of sacrifice, compassion, unity, and selflessness, describing them as important lessons from Prophet Ibrahim’s life.
According to him, Eid-el-Kabir is a reminder that true faith requires patience, obedience, and commitment to a greater purpose.
“As a nation, we are on a journey of reconstruction and renewal,” Tinubu stated.
The President acknowledged that many Nigerians have faced hardship as a result of his administration’s economic reforms but insisted that the sacrifices are beginning to pay off.
He claimed the country’s economy is becoming more stable and attractive to investors, adding that the policies introduced by his government would eventually create more jobs and opportunities for citizens.
“The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here,” Tinubu declared.
He also expressed confidence that the reforms would continue to improve national security and strengthen the economy in the coming years.
Speaking on insecurity, Tinubu praised members of the military and intelligence agencies for recent operations against terrorists and criminal groups, including the reported elimination of a wanted ISIS leader.
However, he admitted that some communities across the country are still facing attacks from terrorists and bandits.
The President assured affected Nigerians that the government has not abandoned them and vowed that the fight against insecurity would continue until victory is achieved.
“I assure you: you are neither abandoned nor forgotten. We will ultimately defeat all the forces of evil,” he said.
Tinubu further urged Nigerians to use the Eid celebration period to support the less privileged, pray for the country, and promote peace and unity regardless of ethnic or religious differences.
He reiterated that his administration would continue investing in security, infrastructure, agriculture, and human capital development as part of efforts to move the country forward.
