Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has approved free entry for fans ahead of Rivers United’s crucial final league clash against Katsina United on Sunday.
The decision comes as Rivers United remain firmly in the race for the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League title and could be crowned champions if results go their way on the final day.
The match will take place at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, with the Rivers State Government also providing free shuttle buses for supporters across different parts of the city.
Coach Finidi George, speaking after Rivers United’s 2-0 Federation Cup victory over G12 FC, said his full attention is now on the title decider against Katsina United.
Rivers United currently trail league leaders Rangers International by one point and must win while hoping Ikorodu City stop Rangers in Lagos.
The state government urged fans to troop out massively and create a strong atmosphere as the club pushes for what could become a historic second NPFL title.
