Former US President Donald Trump has revealed that the United States and Iran are close to finalising a major agreement after what he described as successful negotiations between both sides.
In a statement shared on Truth Social, Trump said the deal had been “largely negotiated” but remains subject to final approval before it can officially take effect.
According to him, the proposed agreement also involves several Middle Eastern countries and could include the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz — one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes.
The Strait of Hormuz plays a major role in global oil transportation, and any development involving the waterway usually attracts worldwide attention because of its impact on energy prices and international trade.
Trump’s announcement is already generating reactions internationally as tensions between the US and Iran have remained a major issue in global politics for years.
Although full details of the agreement have not yet been released, many observers are closely watching to see whether both sides will eventually reach a final deal.
