President Bola Tinubu recorded a landslide victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election in Gombe State after securing 450,517 votes.
His only challenger, Stanley Osifo, failed to get a single vote during the exercise conducted across the state’s 11 local government areas.
The result was announced by Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, who served as the APC presidential primary collation officer and coordinator for President Tinubu in the state.
Speaking at the APC collation centre, Governor Yahaya described the primary election as peaceful, transparent and a reflection of the strong support Tinubu continues to enjoy among APC members in Gombe State.
According to him, the outcome demonstrates the party’s unity and commitment to Tinubu’s leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The governor revealed that Gombe State has over 550,000 registered APC members, with more than 450,000 participating in the presidential primary.
Tinubu secured all valid votes cast in the exercise, while Stanley Osifo recorded zero votes.
Yahaya stated that the overwhelming support for the President shows that party members in the state remain confident in the APC administration and its developmental agenda.
He added that he would officially submit the results to the APC national secretariat in Abuja.
The governor also commended party leaders, security agencies, INEC officials, election observers and members of the media for ensuring a peaceful and successful exercise across the state.
Reacting to the outcome, the APC chairman in Gombe State, Mohammed Ndus, described the primary as historic and an important step toward the party’s preparations for the 2027 elections.
He said the exercise further proved that the APC in Gombe remains united under Governor Yahaya’s leadership.
Ndus also urged party members to remain committed to the party’s collective goals ahead of the general elections.
The primary election was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies and observers.
The result adds to the growing wave of support President Tinubu is receiving from APC structures across different states ahead of the 2027 polls.
