President Bola Tinubu recorded a massive victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election held in Osun State on Saturday.
Tinubu secured 100,880 votes, defeating his only challenger, Stanley Osifo, who failed to record a single vote in the exercise conducted across the state’s 332 wards.
The result was officially announced in Osogbo by the state collation officer and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola.
Oyetola described the primary election as peaceful, orderly and a reflection of the APC’s internal unity and democratic process.
According to him, the large turnout during the exercise showed the confidence party members still have in President Tinubu and his Renewed Hope agenda.
He also praised APC members across Osun State for participating peacefully in the process.
While presenting the official figures, Oyetola disclosed that over 109,000 APC members were digitally registered in the state, while 100,880 members were accredited to vote during the presidential primary.
Tinubu received all valid votes cast in the exercise, while challenger Stanley Osifo recorded zero votes.
Following the announcement, Oyetola formally declared Tinubu the winner of the APC presidential primary in Osun State.
The minister also urged party members to remain united ahead of future political battles, especially the upcoming Osun governorship election scheduled for August 15.
He stressed that the party would need unity, mobilisation and commitment to secure victory in future elections.
Earlier, the APC governorship candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, commended party supporters for turning out massively during the primary exercise.
He assured members that the party would continue working hard to strengthen its chances ahead of the governorship election.
The result adds to growing momentum for President Tinubu within the APC as preparations for the 2027 elections continue nationwide.
