The Lagos State Taskforce has received safety equipment from the Lagos State Security Trust Fund as part of efforts to improve the welfare and operational safety of enforcement officers in the state.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the agency’s spokesperson, Abdulraheem Gbadeyan.
According to the statement, the donated items included protective helmets and safety boots for officers of the taskforce.
Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, Ayo Ogunsan, said the donation was intended to protect officers who carry out enforcement duties across the state, often under risky conditions.
He praised the officers for their commitment to maintaining order and security in Lagos despite the health and safety challenges associated with their work.
Ogunsan stressed the importance of prioritising the wellbeing of personnel and urged officers to make proper use of the protective kits provided.
He also reaffirmed the Lagos State Government’s commitment to strengthening security and supporting agencies responsible for maintaining law and order.
According to him, the activities of the Lagos State Taskforce remain vital to sustaining a safe, secure and habitable environment for residents.
Responding on behalf of the agency, Chairman of the Lagos State Taskforce, Adetayo Akerele, appreciated the LSSTF for its continued support and assistance to the taskforce.
Akerele encouraged officers to effectively utilise the protective equipment to improve both their personal safety and operational efficiency while carrying out assignments.
The Lagos State Security Trust Fund has consistently supported security agencies in the state through the donation of operational tools and equipment aimed at improving public safety.
Beneficiaries of previous interventions by the trust fund include the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies operating within Lagos State.
