Entrepreneur and nightlife promoter, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has reaffirmed his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following the party’s House of Representatives primary in Imo State.
The celebrity businessman had earlier shown interest in contesting for the APC ticket to represent the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Reacting to reports after the primary, Cubana Chief Priest dismissed claims that he participated in the election and scored only 14 votes, insisting that he never took part in the process.
In a series of posts shared on his Instagram page on Sunday, the socialite stressed that his support for President Tinubu and the APC remains firm and unchanged.
According to him, he remains fully committed to promoting and mobilising support for Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda ahead of the 2027 elections. He added that the APC remains his political home and that his loyalty to the party and its leadership is unwavering.
Cubana Chief Priest explained that his decision not to proceed with the contest followed consultations with Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, and other APC leaders in the state.
He revealed that the governor informed him about the party’s zoning arrangement, which favours Orlu Local Government Area retaining the seat for at least two terms before it rotates to another area within the constituency.
The socialite said he respected the position of the party after being reminded that his own local government had already produced a lawmaker who served three terms in the House of Representatives.
He noted that although he believed the constituency deserved stronger representation, he decided to step aside out of respect for party unity and leadership decisions.
Cubana Chief Priest further stated that he never attended the primary venue and returned to Lagos instead of participating in the exercise.
Despite withdrawing from the race, he said he has no regrets about declaring interest, adding that his ambition helped increase political awareness and engagement among people in the constituency.
Following the development, Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, publicly encouraged the socialite, telling him to remain hopeful and see the situation as part of a bigger political journey.
Cubana Chief Priest is known as one of the vocal supporters of the Tinubu administration and currently serves as the Imo State Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, a political support group backing the president.
