Cristiano Ronaldo has finally won his first major trophy in Saudi Arabia after leading Al Nassr to the Saudi Pro League title with a brilliant two-goal performance on the final day of the season.
The Portuguese superstar scored twice in Al Nassr’s 4-1 victory over Damac FC on Thursday night, helping the club secure the league crown ahead of rivals Al Hilal by just two points.
Ronaldo, now 41, delivered when it mattered most with a trademark free-kick and a powerful late finish that sealed the emotional victory for Al Nassr.
After the final whistle, the football icon appeared emotional as he watched the closing moments from the bench, knowing he had finally ended his wait for a major club trophy since winning Serie A with Juventus in 2020.
The title adds another major achievement to Ronaldo’s legendary career, which already includes league titles in England, Spain and Italy, alongside five UEFA Champions League trophies.
Al Nassr had taken an early 2-0 lead before Damac reduced the scoreline, raising tension inside the stadium.
But Ronaldo restored control in the 63rd minute with a stunning free-kick that found the corner of the net before adding his second goal late in the game from close range.
The victory also brings Ronaldo closer to another historic milestone, with his career goal tally now standing at 973 goals — just 27 away from the incredible 1,000-goal mark.
Since joining Al Nassr in 2023 after leaving Manchester United, Ronaldo has played a major role in transforming global attention toward Saudi football.
His arrival opened the door for several other football stars including Neymar and Karim Benzema to move to the Saudi Pro League on massive contracts.
Despite criticism surrounding Saudi Arabia’s heavy investment in sports, Ronaldo has remained one of the country’s biggest sporting ambassadors.
The Portuguese captain is now expected to shift his focus to international football after recently being named in Portugal’s squad ahead of another attempt at World Cup glory.
