Nigerian dancer and entertainer, Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has spoken about his recent ordeal in the United Kingdom, maintaining that he remained confident throughout the period because he knew he was innocent of the allegations against him.
Poco Lee made the statement during a video conversation with popular social commentator VeryDarkMan, who shared the footage on his Instagram page on Sunday.
The entertainer said his main concerns during the period were his associates and business activities rather than the allegations he was facing.
“I was just being myself; God sees my heart. My only worries were about my people: Jago could not do anything business-wise; I didn’t want to stress anyone.
“If I were inside there and I did what I was accused of, I would have felt I was paying for my sins, but since I knew I didn’t do what I was accused of, my mind is pure. Nobody would have wanted to associate themselves with something like that, but Burna Boy stood by me, Jago, and some of my other guys,” he said.
VeryDarkMan also expressed his support for Poco Lee in the video and questioned aspects of reports surrounding the entertainer’s situation in the UK.
He specifically acknowledged the support provided to Poco Lee by Nigerian singer Burna Boy and social media personality Rahman Jago.
The comments come amid reports circulating online concerning the status of the criminal case involving Poco Lee in the UK.
Some reports had claimed that the dancer had been released from prison, while others suggested that the complainant had withdrawn from the case or that the matter had been settled out of court.
However, the Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed that the case remains active.
The CPS Press Office said, “This case is still live, and Odinaka is still set to appear for a PTPH at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 15 September 2026.”
The hearing, referred to as a Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing, is a pre-trial proceeding during which issues concerning the defendant’s plea and preparations for trial are addressed.
The CPS did not disclose whether Odinaka was currently being held in custody or had been granted bail.
Odinaka is facing five sexual offence charges in the UK, including attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration.
The case reportedly followed his trip to the UK for the Davido and Friends concert held at the Crystal Palace Bowl in London on August 14.
Snaresbrook Crown Court had previously confirmed that Odinaka’s case was scheduled for a plea and trial preparation hearing on September 15.
The court also imposed a reporting restriction aimed at protecting the complainant’s identity under Section 1 of the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992.
While Poco Lee has denied the allegations against him, the charges remain before the court and have not been determined.
The dancer has not been convicted of any offence.
