The South-East Youths Stakeholders Forum (SEYSF) has congratulated Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, former Imo Governor Rochas Okorocha and Minister of Works David Umahi on their appointments to strategic positions in the APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.
In a statement issued on Saturday by its Chairman, Mazi Dr Ezenwa A. A. Onyirimba, the forum described the appointments as recognition of the four leaders’ political experience, leadership abilities and contributions to national development.
SEYSF specifically commended Mbah’s appointment as Secretary, Uzodimma as Special Adviser, Okorocha as Deputy Director, South, and Umahi as Deputy Director, Infrastructure.
The forum said the roles showed the confidence President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and APC leaders have in the four South-East politicians, particularly their experience and political networks.
According to SEYSF, their inclusion also gives the South-East an opportunity to play a stronger role in Nigeria’s political and developmental affairs, while allowing the region’s concerns and priorities to receive greater attention at the national level.
“Their appointments are a positive development for the South-East and further demonstrate the importance of our region in the national political process,” the forum said.
The youth group expressed confidence that the four appointees would use their administrative experience and political networks to contribute to the success of the APC’s 2027 presidential campaign.
SEYSF also urged South-East youths and other stakeholders to participate actively and peacefully in the 2027 electoral process. It said it would mobilise young people across the five South-East states to engage in politics and pursue issues including greater representation, infrastructure, economic empowerment, employment, youth inclusion and stronger participation in national decision-making.
The forum stressed that the South-East should not remain on the sidelines of Nigeria’s political process, urging young people to take an active role in shaping policies affecting their future.
“Active participation of South-East youths in the political process is essential to securing greater opportunities, representation, infrastructure development, economic empowerment and a stronger voice for our region in national affairs.”
SEYSF further urged the newly appointed campaign council members to use their positions to strengthen ties between the Federal Government and the South-East while supporting initiatives focused on peace, development, investment and inclusion across the region.
The forum again congratulated Mbah, Uzodimma, Okorocha and Umahi and wished them success in their respective assignments.
