President Bola Tinubu has officially sworn in Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe as the new Minister of Power and Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs following the resignation of their predecessors.
The brief ceremony took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja and was attended by family members of the new ministers and top government officials.
Tegbe takes over the Power Ministry after the exit of Adebayo Adelabu, while Enikanolaiye replaces former Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar, both of whom left office to pursue political ambitions in their states.
Speaking on the appointments, the Presidency highlighted the vast experience both men bring into their new roles.
Tegbe, a renowned economic and reform strategist with over 35 years of experience, previously worked with major institutions including KPMG Africa, NERC, NCC, NBET, Shell, MTN and Huawei.
Enikanolaiye, a veteran diplomat, served Nigeria in several countries including India, Canada, Ethiopia, Serbia and the United Kingdom before retiring as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Prior to his appointment, he served as Senior Special Assistant to President Tinubu on Foreign Affairs and International Relations.
The appointments come as the administration seeks to strengthen reforms in the power sector and deepen Nigeria’s diplomatic engagements globally.
