Afrobeats stars Davido and Wande Coal have exchanged words on social media over an unreleased version of Wande’s 2021 song, ‘Come My Way’, which was recorded with Davido’s contribution but never officially released.
The dispute began after a viral interview in which Davido explained why his version of the song did not come out. He said Wande had brought the unreleased track to him to record a verse before the original song was released.
Davido claimed Wande wanted to release the original song first and later put out his version as a remix, a plan he said he disagreed with because he had not recorded his verse as a remix.
“He brought it to me, so I recorded that verse, and that verse is hard,” Davido said.
He added that he felt the collaboration could have been successful if released differently.
Wande Coal responded to the viral clip on X, challenging Davido’s account and explaining that the original song already had a planned release date.
“Song wey been get release plan and date!!! Song wey no be your own you wan dictate release plan,” Wande wrote.
He also argued that the song performed well without Davido’s contribution, saying it “did well without you on it.”
Davido then responded with a personal taunt directed at Wande, writing:
“No vex Mr little penis.”
Wande fired back with his own insult:
“No vex too Mr. toto beggar.”
His response referenced a viral video involving Davido in which the singer was allegedly seen pleading with a woman for sex.
The exchange has since attracted attention online, with fans and social media users reacting to the back-and-forth between the two Nigerian music stars over a collaboration that never officially saw the light of day.
