President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, following his victory in the August 15 governorship election, wishing him a successful second term in office.
Tinubu, in a statement personally signed and shared on X, said Adeleke’s re-election showed the confidence Osun voters have in his leadership.
The President said he had earlier called Adeleke to congratulate him on the outcome of the election.
“I wish him great success as he prepares to lead the state for the next four years,” Tinubu said.
Tinubu urged the governor to use his renewed mandate to unite residents across political lines and focus on the development and stability of Osun State.
“Governor Adeleke must unite the people of Osun State and rally them for growth, stability, and social and economic progress, regardless of the political choices they made at the election.”
The President also commended the other governorship candidates for their participation, describing their conduct as a contribution to Nigeria’s democratic process.
He said the election result reflected the choice of Osun voters and demonstrated the continued strength of democracy in the country.
Tinubu further praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for their roles in conducting what he described as a peaceful and transparent election.
“I must also commend the Independent National Electoral Commission and the security agencies for conducting a peaceful and transparent election that produced a clear winner.”
He expressed hope that Nigeria’s democratic institutions would continue to grow stronger.
“May our democracy continue to thrive and be strengthened.”
