Bishop Thomas Aremu, a former senior pastor and vice president of Living Faith Church Worldwide, popularly known as Winners’ Chapel, has advised husbands to pay attention to their wives’ financial needs and provide adequate support at home.
Aremu gave the advice while speaking at MLF Day 1, in a video circulating online.
The bishop said husbands should not withhold money from their wives, particularly when their spouses are actively caring for the home and children.
“Women like money, so if you have money, spend it on them. Give her money. She is the one taking care of the children, and she will like you,” Aremu said.
He also shared how he responds when his wife asks him for money, explaining that although he may first ask what she needs it for, he would provide the money if she insists.
According to him, wives deserve financial support and opportunities to rest, especially because of their responsibilities at home.
“Number one, she needs to have some rest. Number two, she is my wife; she is not somebody else’s wife, and I have the money,” he said.
‘Don’t Call It Carnality’
Aremu further encouraged husbands to take care of their wives and avoid automatically viewing their desire for certain personal items as ungodly.
Using the example of a wife wanting to buy gold, the bishop argued that such a desire should not immediately be labelled as carnality.
“She may see gold and say she wants to buy it. Don’t say carnality. No. The street of heaven is made up of gold, so it doesn’t destroy godliness,” he said.
His comments have drawn attention online, particularly his emphasis on financial responsibility, care and generosity within marriage.
