Afrobeats superstar Davido has fired back at Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo after the governor mocked Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke during a political campaign rally.
The singer, who has been actively supporting his uncle’s re-election bid ahead of the August 15 Osun governorship election, reacted by sharing what appeared to be Okpebholo’s WAEC result on his Instagram Stories.
Although Davido did not include any caption with the post, many social media users interpreted it as a direct response to the governor’s recent comments about Adeleke.
The exchange followed remarks made by Governor Okpebholo while campaigning for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO.
Speaking at the APC rally, which was attended by Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, Okpebholo mocked Governor Adeleke’s well-known passion for dancing, suggesting it had become a distraction from governance.
“Before somebody signs paper, he will dance. Are you not tired? For four years, this man has been dancing. Before he takes breakfast, before he drinks tea, he will dance,” the Edo governor said.
Okpebholo also encouraged voters to collect money from political opponents but vote for the APC candidate during the August 15 governorship election.
Davido’s latest reaction has added another twist to the growing political exchanges surrounding the Osun election, with the singer remaining one of the most vocal supporters of Governor Adeleke.
In recent weeks, Davido has participated in campaign rallies and repeatedly called for a peaceful, free and credible election in Osun State.
His decision to post the governor’s alleged WAEC result has since generated widespread reactions on social media, with supporters and critics debating the ongoing political rivalry.
