The Ogun State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of former Ogun State Television (OGTV) broadcaster Kitan Oyesiku and her security guard at her residence in Owode-Egba, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.
The suspects were paraded at the state police headquarters in Abeokuta, where Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni disclosed that the arrests followed intelligence gathering and technical tracking.
According to the police, the principal suspect allegedly confessed that the attack was carried out to “teach her a lesson” over what he described as poor remuneration during his time working for the deceased.
The suspect allegedly recruited two others to carry out the attack before fleeing with Oyesiku’s Lexus RX 330 vehicle.
Police said the stolen vehicle was later recovered through intelligence-led operations, despite efforts to conceal its identity by removing the number plates and ignition key.
Investigators also recovered several exhibits, including a broken hammer, cutlass, plank, and a black pen, which are believed to be connected to the crime.
The command said forensic analysis of a handwritten note allegedly left at the scene also provided crucial leads that helped identify the suspects.
According to police, Oyesiku and her security guard were attacked on June 20, 2026, after the assailants allegedly overpowered the guard before gaining access to the house.
The police stressed that although the suspects have made confessional statements, they remain entitled to due process, adding that investigations are ongoing before they are charged to court.
