President Bola Tinubu has said his administration never promised Nigerians instant solutions to the country’s challenges but instead committed to long-term reforms aimed at building a stronger nation.
The president made the remark through Senate President Godswill Akpabio during the commissioning of a seven-kilometre access road linking parts of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport area in Abuja.
Addressing attendees, Tinubu acknowledged the difficulties that have accompanied some of his administration’s policies but insisted that the decisions were necessary for Nigeria’s future.
“When we came into office, we did not promise miracles that would appear from thin air,” the president said.
According to him, the government’s focus has been on implementing deliberate and strategic reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda to improve the lives of Nigerians.
Tinubu maintained that while the economic adjustments may be difficult in the short term, they are designed to create a more stable and prosperous future for the country.
He stressed that his administration is focused on delivering sustainable development rather than pursuing quick fixes for political gain.
The president also assured Nigerians that his government would continue working to ensure the benefits of good governance are felt across different sectors of the economy.
Meanwhile, Senate President Akpabio praised the quality of the newly commissioned road project, describing it as evidence of the administration’s commitment to infrastructure development.
The project forms part of ongoing efforts by the Federal Government to improve transportation networks and support economic activities within the Federal Capital Territory.
