President Bola Tinubu has publicly praised FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for what he described as outstanding performance in transforming Abuja through major infrastructure projects.
The President, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, made the remarks during the commissioning of the newly completed Collector Road CN2 and other road projects in the Katampe District of the Federal Capital Territory.
Tinubu said he was confident in Wike’s ability when he appointed him and expressed satisfaction with the results achieved so far.
“When I gave him the assignment to make Abuja a true capital city, I knew his track record. Wike, you have not disappointed me,” the President said.
He commended the former Rivers State governor for delivering key projects, including roads, water infrastructure and housing developments, describing him as a results-driven leader.
Tinubu noted that ongoing infrastructure projects across Abuja are helping to improve transportation, boost economic activities and strengthen security.
According to him, the installation of solar-powered street lights in strategic locations has enhanced safety and revived nightlife in parts of the capital city.
The President added that the newly commissioned road symbolises the administration’s commitment to delivering visible development under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Speaking at the event, Wike said the Katampe road project was initiated to address a critical infrastructure gap and improve connectivity within the area.
He argued that infrastructure development remains one of the most effective ways to stimulate economic growth, attract investment and create jobs.
The minister also highlighted ongoing efforts to extend development projects to satellite communities, revealing that additional projects would soon be commissioned across the FCT.
The event was attended by government officials, community leaders and stakeholders who praised the administration’s infrastructure drive.
