Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has called on the people of the South-East to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election, saying the region must embrace what he described as an “alliance for progress and prosperity.”
Soludo made the appeal after attending a pro-Tinubu endorsement rally organised by the Ebonyi State Government in Abakaliki.
The governor, who joined his Ebonyi counterpart, Francis Nwifuru, and other political leaders at the event, said the South-East should move away from what he termed the “alliance of protest” and align with forces that can deliver development and economic growth.
According to Soludo, the region needs a new political direction that prioritises progress over repeated expressions of dissatisfaction.
“The time has come for us to unite. Enough of the politics of lamentations. Ndi Igbo, we must move from the alliance of protest to the alliance for progress—an alliance for prosperity. We must unite. We must not waste our votes again,” he said.
The Anambra governor also described Governor Nwifuru as a brother and expressed solidarity with him over the decision to publicly endorse President Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
“I am here on a solidarity march with my own brother, the Rt. Hon. Governor of Ebonyi State,” Soludo stated.
He added that progressives across Nigeria must work together to strengthen national unity and support policies aimed at driving development.
“I have come in solidarity because progressives are working together. It is time for progressives to unite,” he added.
The endorsement rally attracted political leaders and supporters from across the region, with participants openly declaring support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
