President Bola Tinubu and First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Saturday participated in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election held in Ikoyi, Lagos State.
The couple cast their votes at Ward E during the nationwide exercise organised by the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking after voting, President Tinubu described the primary election as a strong example of internal democracy within the APC.
According to him, the process was peaceful, well-organised and allowed party members at the grassroots level to fully participate in decision-making.
Tinubu said every member of the APC has the right to be involved in the party’s democratic process, adding that the conduct of the exercise reflected the strength of the party’s structure nationwide.
The President also praised APC governors and party officials for successfully organising the primaries across different states of the country.
He expressed satisfaction with the entire process, from ward congresses and delegate accreditation to voter validation and certification of party registers.
According to Tinubu, the APC has continued to demonstrate a high level of democratic organisation internally.
The President further reacted to the large number of supporters who gathered at the polling unit, saying their support motivates and inspires him even more.
“I’m just excited. They challenge me more,” Tinubu said while addressing party supporters after casting his vote.
The APC presidential primary was conducted nationwide on Saturday as the ruling party prepares for the 2027 presidential election.
The exercise has already produced overwhelming victories for President Tinubu in several states and wards across the country.
