Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has called on leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to come out massively and support President Bola Tinubu ahead of the party’s presidential primary election.
The governor made the appeal during a visit to APC chieftain and founding leader in Delta State, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, at his residence in Ughelli North Local Government Area.
Oborevwori, who is coordinating the presidential primary election in Delta State, expressed confidence that the APC structure in the state has enough strength to deliver huge support for President Tinubu.
According to him, the party currently has more than 470,000 registered members across Delta State and is expecting a strong turnout during the exercise.
The governor stated that the party has the grassroots support and mobilisation network needed to secure overwhelming votes for the President.
He also recalled the support he received when he emerged as the APC governorship candidate, saying Tinubu deserves even greater backing as the leader of the party.
Oborevwori stressed the importance of party unity, discipline and loyalty to leadership, warning that political parties without internal order often struggle to survive.
According to him, respect for party leadership and established structures remains essential for stability and long-term political success.
He urged party members and stakeholders to remain united and avoid actions capable of weakening the APC in Delta State.
Reacting to the visit, APC leader O’tega Emerhor praised Oborevwori’s leadership style and commended him for showing humility and respect toward party elders.
Emerhor noted that consultation and respect for party structures are important for any political organisation to remain strong and organised.
He assured the governor that APC leaders and supporters in Delta State are ready to work hard to deliver massive votes for President Tinubu during the primary election.
The development comes as political activities continue to intensify ahead of the 2027 election season across the country.
