Nigerian Afro-house star, Niniola Apata, has announced the death of her husband, Michael Ndika, in an emotional series of posts shared on Instagram.
The Grammy-nominated singer revealed the heartbreaking news early Wednesday, leaving fans and colleagues shocked across social media.
Ndika was the Chief Executive Officer of NaijaReview, a media platform known for promoting Afro-house and contemporary African music.
Expressing her pain, Niniola shared short but emotional messages about her loss.
“God took him,” the singer wrote in one post.
In another emotional update, she stated, “My husband died.”
She later shared another heartbreaking message reflecting on their years together.
“God took him. 13 years. 13 f***ing years,” Niniola added.
Details surrounding Ndika’s death were not immediately made public, as the singer has consistently kept her
personal and family life away from public attention.
Niniola, 39, rose to fame after finishing as runner-up at the 2013 edition of Project Fame West Africa.
She later gained international recognition with her hit song Maradona in 2017, which attracted praise from global music stars including Drake, DJ Snake, Timbaland and Beyoncé.
