An arrest warrant previously issued for Offset was officially withdrawn just weeks before the rapper was shot outside a casino in Florida, according to court records.
The artist, born Kiari Cephus, had the warrant issued in late January after failing to appear for an arraignment hearing in Los Angeles. However, the situation was resolved on February 26 when he appeared in court alongside his legal representative and entered a not guilty plea, prompting the judge to recall the warrant.
The case is tied to a misdemeanor charge of simple battery linked to an alleged incident that occurred in March 2025 at a cannabis dispensary in Los Angeles. At the time it was issued, the warrant carried a bond set at $20,000.
Not long after settling the legal matter, Offset was involved in a separate and alarming incident earlier this week, during which he was shot outside the Hard Rock Casino in Florida. He was subsequently hospitalized and has since been discharged.
