American R&B star Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to an affray charge over a confrontation at a London nightclub in 2023, bringing a major development in the high-profile criminal case against the singer.
Brown entered the guilty plea on Friday during a brief hearing at Southwark Crown Court in London. The court session lasted less than five minutes.
His co-defendant, rapper Omololu Akinlolu, popularly known as Hoody Baby, also pleaded guilty to the same affray charge.
Following the guilty pleas, prosecutors withdrew the more serious charges of assault and grievous bodily harm (GBH), which both men had previously denied.
A separate charge accusing Brown of possessing an offensive weapon was also dropped.
The case stems from an incident that occurred at a London nightclub in 2023, which led to criminal proceedings against the two entertainers.
After accepting the guilty pleas, Judge Tony Baumgartner adjourned the matter and scheduled sentencing for October 26, 2026.
Chris Brown and Hoody Baby are expected to return to court on that date to learn their sentences.
