Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire has officially confirmed that her marriage to actor Frederick Leonard has come to an end, weeks after publicly accusing him of infidelity.
The actress shared the update on her social media pages, celebrating the finalisation of the divorce and describing it as a new chapter in her life.
Taking to her Instagram Story, Peggy reposted a message from a friend that read:
“Thank You Jesus. My queen is free.”
She followed it with another post saying:
“Thank You Jesus. It is done.”
Peggy also fueled reactions on Snapchat after sharing a video of herself with the caption:
“Miss Peggy Ovire.”
Her latest posts come weeks after she accused Frederick Leonard of having an affair with a married woman and publicly called on him to appear in court to finalise their divorce.
According to Peggy, Leonard initiated the divorce but allegedly failed to appear in court on two occasions, sending his lawyer instead. She had urged him to attend the June 23 court hearing so the marriage could be formally dissolved.
“You said you wanted a divorce, yet you didn’t show up when you were served… I’m coming with receipts and let’s make this divorce done and dusted,” she had said.
Peggy and Frederick made their relationship public in 2022 before tying the knot later that same year. Their marriage attracted widespread attention from fans, making the news of their separation one of the most talked-about developments in Nollywood.
