U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will step down from office, blaming what he described as failures in immigration and energy policy.
Trump made the remark in a post on his Truth Social platform on Sunday, sparking fresh political discussion in both the United States and the United Kingdom.
According to Trump, Starmer’s handling of key national issues has put his leadership under pressure.
“Keir Starmer will resign as Prime Minister of The United Kingdom,” Trump wrote.
The U.S. president also criticised Starmer’s approach to immigration and called for greater support for North Sea oil production.
However, Trump did not provide evidence to support his claim, nor did he indicate where the information originated.
Starmer, who became Prime Minister after leading the Labour Party to victory in the UK general election, remains in office. His government has faced criticism from opponents over issues including migration, energy policy and the cost of living.
Trump’s comments have added to ongoing political debate surrounding the British Prime Minister’s leadership and policy direction.
