Nollywood actress Judy Austin has responded strongly to allegations made by her former husband, Emmanuel Obasi, over her relationship with actor Yul Edochie, insisting that the claims are false and warning that the matter could end up in court.
The controversy began after Obasi appeared on The Honest Bunch Podcast, where he alleged that Judy had admired Yul Edochie while they were still married and claimed she often spoke about the actor during their relationship.
Reacting in a video shared on Instagram, Judy dismissed the allegations and accused her ex-husband of spreading falsehoods in an attempt to damage her reputation.
The actress maintained that her marriage to Obasi had already ended before she ever met Yul Edochie.
According to Judy, she first met the actor in 2016 on a movie set, several years after the collapse of her marriage.
“I met Chief Yul Edochie on a movie set in 2016 for the very first time. Up until that time, I had no interest even in acting. The person who encouraged me in 2013 to even consider acting was Sebastian Madu,” she said.
Judy also accused Obasi of contradicting himself regarding the timeline of their separation, insisting that she left the marriage in 2012.
She warned that any further allegations against her would have to be defended in court.
“Because the court of law is where you have to defend everything you’ve ever said beyond a reasonable doubt. If you must allege, you must defend it. All the lies you’ve paraded against my family and me, you will defend in court.”
The actress further rejected claims that she denied Obasi access to their children, stating that her children lived with her parents for several years before she relocated them to Enugu.
Addressing criticism directed at Yul Edochie, Judy praised the actor for supporting her children and playing an active role in their lives.
“He has helped me to be a father figure in their lives. Put the roof over their heads. Pay their school fees, feed them. Anything you people should praise him for being a kind and awesome man,” she said.
Judy also described Obasi as a “deadbeat father” and questioned the credibility of his statements, urging the public to pay attention to what she called inconsistencies in his narrative.
The latest exchange adds another chapter to the ongoing public dispute between the former couple, a controversy that has continued to generate reactions on social media.
