US President Donald Trump has been declared in excellent health following his latest medical examination, although his physician has advised him to lose weight and increase physical activity.
The health assessment was released by the White House after Trump underwent his annual medical check-up at the Walter Reed Military Hospital, just weeks before his 80th birthday.
According to the report prepared by US Navy Captain Sean Barbabella, the president remains physically and mentally fit to continue carrying out the responsibilities of office.
The physician stated that Trump demonstrated strong heart, lung, neurological, and overall physical function, concluding that he is fully capable of serving as Commander-in-Chief.
Despite the positive assessment, doctors recommended lifestyle adjustments, including weight reduction, improved diet, increased exercise, and continued preventive healthcare measures.
Medical records released by the White House showed that Trump weighs 238 pounds (108kg) and stands 6 feet 3 inches (191cm) tall, making him about 14 pounds heavier than during his previous annual medical examination.
The report also noted that Trump scored a perfect 30 out of 30 on a cognitive assessment test, a result the president has frequently highlighted in public appearances.
The White House further disclosed that Trump currently takes medications to manage cholesterol levels and a low-dose aspirin for cardiovascular prevention.
Addressing recent speculation surrounding visible bruising on Trump’s right hand, the medical report explained that the marks were consistent with minor tissue irritation caused by frequent handshaking while taking aspirin.
The report also referenced scarring on Trump’s right ear, linked to the assassination attempt he survived during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania in 2024.
Doctors additionally noted that the president continues to be monitored for chronic venous insufficiency, a condition affecting blood flow in the veins that can lead to swelling in the legs.
Trump, who will turn 80 on June 14, celebrated the outcome of the examination on his Truth Social platform, describing the medical check-up as having gone “perfectly.”
The White House later reinforced the message by sharing a statement declaring that the president had received a “perfect bill of health.”
The report comes amid continued public interest in the health and fitness of political leaders as the United States moves closer to another election cycle.
