Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly planning to part ways with Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare this summer following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
The Super Eagles forward only joined Wolves last summer from Belgian side KRC Genk in a deal reportedly worth €24 million, but his debut season in England failed to meet expectations.
Arokodare struggled to make a major impact at Molineux, scoring just three goals in 28 Premier League appearances during a disappointing campaign for the Old Gold, who ultimately dropped into the Championship after failing to avoid relegation.
With Wolves now preparing for life outside the English top flight, reports claim the club is willing to let the 25-year-old leave in a bid to rebuild the squad ahead of next season.
According to talkSPORT, Wolves are currently considering a loan move as the most realistic option for the Nigerian attacker, especially with concerns that finding a club ready to meet a permanent transfer fee could prove difficult after his underwhelming performances in the Premier League.
Despite his struggles in England, Arokodare remains highly rated due to his physical presence, finishing ability, and performances during his time in Belgium, where he impressed for Genk before earning his big-money move to the Premier League.
The striker is currently valued at around €18 million, and several clubs across Europe are believed to be monitoring his situation ahead of the summer transfer window.
Although his future at Wolves now appears uncertain, the Nigerian international still has age on his side and could revive his career with regular playing time elsewhere.
