Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and affiliated support groups in Oyo State to work together and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other party candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Tegbe made the call during a series of engagements with APC stakeholders and support groups in Ibadan, where he also urged party members to put differences aside and strengthen unity within the party.
The minister began his engagements with the APC Reconciliation Committee, led by its chairman, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin.
He commended the committee for its efforts to reconcile members following the party’s primaries and pledged to support its work by reaching out to aspirants who may still have grievances.
Lanlehin thanked the minister for his support and said the committee would continue engaging aspirants and other stakeholders until greater unity is achieved within the party.
Tegbe later visited the APC State Secretariat in Oke-Ado, where he was received by the state chairman, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo, and members of the State Executive Committee.
The minister urged party leaders to ensure that different interests and political tendencies within the APC are accommodated.
He also promised to continue supporting party members and efforts aimed at strengthening the party ahead of the elections.
Tegbe Highlights Tinubu’s Power Sector Reforms
At the Oyo State Secretariat of the Tinubu Support Group in Yemetu, Tegbe was welcomed by a large gathering of supporters and party members.
He urged the support groups to take the administration’s message to communities across the state and mobilise support for Tinubu and other APC candidates.
Tegbe pointed to developments in the power sector as one of the issues party members could discuss with voters.
He said the reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration had produced what he described as modest improvements within a relatively short period.
“Under President Tinubu, the nation continues to record high generation and transmission levels, with output exceeding 5,300MW in recent weeks,” Tegbe said.
He argued that increased electricity availability could provide more power for households, markets, workshops and factories, while supporting industrial activity and employment.
The minister called on APC supporters to communicate the administration’s policies and achievements at the grassroots as the party prepares for the 2027 elections.
Leaders of the various support groups thanked Tegbe for his support for party members and pledged to work towards the party’s success at the polls.
