Singer Seyi Vibez has removed his social media posts about celebrity chef Hilda Baci after her lawyers threatened legal action over what they described as defamatory claims.
The development comes amid a wider dispute between Seyi Vibez and his former record label, Dapper Music, owned by Damilola Akinwunmi, popularly known as Dapper.
The singer, alongside former Dapper Music acts Shallipopi and T.I Blaze, has been involved in a public disagreement with the label over alleged royalty issues and claims involving funds reportedly worth about N1 billion.
During the heated exchange on X, Seyi Vibez made allegations involving Hilda Baci, who is romantically linked to Dapper.
Among his claims, the singer alleged that money from the artistes’ catalogue was used to finance Hilda Baci’s cosmetic surgery. He also made negative comments about her food business.
Hilda Baci subsequently responded through her lawyers, who issued a cease-and-desist letter demanding that the posts be removed.
Her legal team also demanded a public apology and retraction, warning that failure to comply could result in legal action.
“We hereby demand that upon receipt of this letter, you immediately remove and permanently delete the above referenced publications.”
Following the legal warning, Seyi Vibez deleted the posts mentioning Hilda Baci.
However, as of the time of reporting, the singer had not publicly issued the apology demanded by her lawyers.
Seyi Vibez signed with Dapper Music in 2022 before announcing his departure from the label in September 2024. He now identifies publicly as an independent artiste.
The latest development adds another twist to the ongoing dispute surrounding Seyi Vibez and his former label.
