Former Osun State Governor and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Dr Adegboyega Oyetola, has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to remain united and work together to secure victory for the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, in Saturday’s election.
Oyetola made the call during an interactive meeting with APC leaders, stakeholders and supporters in Inisa, Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State.
According to a statement issued by his Special Adviser, Dr Bolaji Akinola, on Wednesday, the minister urged party members to actively participate in the electoral process while remaining vigilant against vote manipulation and other forms of electoral malpractice.
Oyetola Raises Concern Over Osun Infrastructure
Oyetola also expressed concern over the condition of infrastructure across the state, particularly the poor state of roads.
He argued that residents across Osun deserved equal access to government projects and essential public services, regardless of where they lived.
The minister said that despite the substantial federal allocations received by the state over the past three years, many roads remained in poor condition.
He therefore assured APC supporters that an Oyebamiji-led administration would prioritise infrastructure development if elected.
According to him, the APC candidate would focus on the rehabilitation and construction of roads, revitalisation of the education sector and strengthening of primary healthcare.
Oyetola said the administration would also work towards improving other essential services across the state.
‘Oyebamiji Will Ensure Balanced Development’
The minister assured residents that Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, would ensure prudent management of state resources and balanced development across the various parts of Osun.
Oyetola also accused members of the Accord Party of attacking APC supporters and subsequently portraying themselves as victims.
He acknowledged the support and endorsement given to Oyebamiji by former governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun and other political leaders in the local government.
Expressing confidence in the APC candidate’s chances, Oyetola said many residents had become dissatisfied with the performance of the incumbent administration.
He therefore urged APC members to turn their support for the party into actual votes by mobilising voters and ensuring strong turnout on election day.
