Popular Nigerian content creator Carter Efe’s TikTok account was permanently banned on September 9, with the platform reportedly citing multiple violations of its community guidelines.
The ban has triggered reactions across social media, particularly after an old video of fellow content creator Peller resurfaced, showing him calling on his followers to report Carter Efe’s TikTok account.
The video began circulating shortly after Carter Efe’s account was banned, bringing renewed attention to the long-running tension between the two creators.
In the footage, Peller urged his followers to report Carter Efe’s account during an earlier disagreement between them.
The resurfaced clip subsequently led some social media users to speculate that Peller may have had something to do with the latest ban.
Peller later responded to the allegations in a video circulated on September 10. He acknowledged seeing the claims but shifted attention to Carter Efe’s activities during his livestreams, suggesting that TikTok had its own reasons for taking action against the account.
However, there is currently no confirmed evidence that Peller personally caused TikTok to ban Carter Efe’s account.
TikTok’s reported explanation remains that the account was permanently removed after multiple violations of the platform’s community guidelines.
The ban represents a significant setback for Carter Efe, whose account had reportedly accumulated more than 5.6 million followers and over 158 million likes before it was removed.
