The management of Nigerian dancer Iweh Pascal Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has denied reports suggesting that drink-spiking forms part of the allegations against him in an ongoing case in the United Kingdom.
The clarification comes after the Snaresbrook Crown Court confirmed that Poco Lee is scheduled to appear before the court on September 15.
According to the court’s admin team lead, James Baker, the case is listed for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
Baker also confirmed that Poco Lee is facing charges of attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration.
Management Rejects Drink-Spiking Reports
Reacting to reports circulating online, Poco Lee’s management said there had been an increase in what it described as unverified claims about the case.
The team specifically addressed reports alleging that drink-spiking was included among the charges, insisting that the claim does not form part of the allegations currently before the court.
In a statement shared on Instagram, the management urged the public and media to rely on verified information rather than adding details that are not contained in the actual case.
“We are particularly concerned by the volume of unverified narratives currently circulating, including claims referencing ‘drink spiking’.”
The management said spreading unverified details could contribute to misinformation and unfairly prejudice the parties involved in the case.
It therefore called on members of the public and media organisations to avoid presenting allegations that are not part of the charges before the court as established facts.
Poco Lee’s team added that it would continue to provide updates through its official channels when appropriate as the legal proceedings progress.
The dancer remains innocent unless proven guilty in court.
