Former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba is set to leave Monaco after the French club announced plans to terminate his contract.
The 33-year-old, who won the 2018 World Cup with France, has struggled to regain his top-level form since serving a ban for doping.
Monaco said the objectives agreed upon with Pogba were only partially achieved and confirmed that the club would end his contract, which was originally scheduled to run until June 2027.
Pogba is currently sidelined with a thigh injury after recently returning from a knee problem, adding to a difficult period marked by repeated fitness setbacks.
Despite his limited time on the pitch, Monaco praised Pogba’s attitude and influence within the squad.
The club highlighted his “remarkable mindset, determination and unwavering high standards”, adding that he continued to have a positive impact on teammates even while injured by sharing his experience and knowledge.
Pogba’s departure will bring an early end to his spell at Monaco as he continues his search for a return to regular football.
