Afrobeats superstar Wizkid is set to headline the opening night of Detty December Fest 2026, with organisers promising a bigger celebration of music, culture and entertainment in Lagos.
According to Livespot360, Wizkid will take the stage on December 18, officially kicking off the 13-day festival, which will run until December 30.
The organisers also announced a new Pulse Stage, which will run alongside the main Festival Stage and give emerging artistes and rising talents an opportunity to showcase their music.
Wizkid will headline the main stage, while the new platform will focus on new sounds and artistes shaping the future of African music.
The 2026 edition follows the successful 2025 festival, which reportedly attracted more than 40,000 attendees and featured international and Nigerian stars including Busta Rhymes, Gunna, Shenseea, Tiwa Savage, Diamond Platnumz, Phyno, Wande Coal, Fave, Young John, Qing Madi, Ice Prince, Jux and Wizkid.
Organisers said this year’s festival will offer an expanded combination of music, fashion, food, culture and entertainment experiences.
With Lagos traditionally recording a major influx of visitors during the December holiday season, Wizkid’s opening-night performance is expected to be one of the major attractions of this year’s Detty December celebrations.
