A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engr. Anselm Ijebor, has declared his support for former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 presidential election, describing him as the preferred choice of many Nigerians.
Ijebor said he would mobilise support for Obi, whom he praised for his record in public service and leadership.
According to him, Nigerians should use the 2027 general election to support candidates they believe have the experience, vision and capacity to tackle the country’s challenges.
He also mentioned former Kano State Governor and presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, saying both leaders have demonstrated commitment to public service and continue to enjoy widespread support across the country.
“As the 2027 general election approaches, Nigerians have an opportunity to elect leaders with the experience, vision and capacity to deliver good governance and rebuild the country,” Ijebor said.
The PDP chieftain commended Obi’s performance during his tenure as governor of Anambra State, describing him as a leader who demonstrated integrity, competence and commitment to development.
Ijebor expressed confidence that an Obi-led administration would prioritise key sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, job creation, security, and youth and women empowerment.
He also urged Nigerians to participate actively and peacefully in the electoral process by supporting candidates of their choice.
“I call on every eligible voter, every youth, every woman, every elder and every stakeholder to participate in the democratic process and support the candidate they believe can move Nigeria forward,” he stated.
According to Ijebor, Obi’s contributions to national development and efforts towards promoting unity have earned him recognition in different parts of the country.
He further appealed to political stakeholders and supporters to conduct peaceful, issue-based campaigns as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.
