The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the successful upload of all 471 candidates for the 2027 general elections, saying the party’s next priority is nationwide mobilisation ahead of the polls.
APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, disclosed this in a post on Sunday, congratulating the party’s candidates, leaders and members after completing the submission of their details on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Candidate Nomination Portal (ICNP).
“I congratulate our candidates, leaders, and members of APC on the successful 100% upload of our Presidential, Vice Presidential, Senate, and House of Representatives candidates on the INEC Candidate Nomination Portal,” Yilwatda said.
He added that the party would now concentrate on mobilising supporters and preparing for what he described as a successful campaign.
“With this milestone achieved, our focus now shifts to mobilization and preparations for a successful campaign and decisive victory at the polls,” he stated.
The APC’s announcement came shortly after INEC extended the deadline for political parties to submit the names and particulars of their presidential and National Assembly candidates for the 2027 elections.
The electoral commission shifted the deadline from July 11 to midnight on July 14, 2026, following an appeal by the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) on behalf of parties that had not completed the process.
Despite the extension, the APC said it had already met the original deadline by uploading the nomination forms of President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and other candidates.
The submission also confirmed that President Tinubu will once again run with Kashim Shettima as his running mate in the 2027 presidential election.
Earlier, Yilwatda expressed confidence in the party’s chances at the polls, saying the APC was not worried by opposition criticism and would head into the election with the support of more than 12 million registered party members.
The nomination forms were presented on behalf of President Tinubu by his Special Adviser on Political and Other Matters, Ibrahim Masari, during a ceremony attended by APC governors, members of the National Working Committee, National Assembly caucus members, ministers and other party stakeholders.
