The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially confirmed President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima as its presidential ticket for the 2027 general election, following the submission of their nomination forms ahead of the INEC deadline.
The submission, made on Friday in Abuja by Ibrahim Masari, President Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Political and Other Matters, officially ended months of speculation over the President’s running mate and cleared the way for the APC to upload the ticket to the INEC nomination portal before the deadline.
Speaking during the ceremony, APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, expressed confidence that the ruling party would secure victory in 2027.
“We are not afraid, we are not in doubt of our success… come 2027, our victory as a party is assured,” Yilwatda said.
He noted that President Tinubu begins the race with the backing of over 12 million APC members, adding that beneficiaries of government programmes, including the student loan scheme, road projects and agricultural interventions, would further strengthen the party’s support base.
Yilwatda also urged APC governors and members to actively promote the administration’s achievements across the country, insisting that the party remains focused despite criticism from the opposition.
The event was attended by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, APC governors, members of the National Working Committee (NWC), the Federal Executive Council (FEC), National Assembly members and other party leaders.
