Lionel Messi has been named among the stars for the 2026 Major League Soccer (MLS) All-Star Game, leading a squad featuring 13 players who represented their countries at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to Reuters, the All-Star roster includes players from eight different countries, highlighting the growing global influence of Major League Soccer.
Joining Messi are United States internationals Matt Freese, Max Arfsten, Tim Ream and Sebastian Berhalter, while Canada’s Richie Laryea and Maxime Crépeau also made the squad following their impressive World Cup performances.
Other World Cup stars selected include Rodrigo De Paul, Petar Musa, Steven Moreira, Lucas Herrington, Son Heung-min, Thomas Müller, Mbekezeli Mbokazi, Evander and Sam Surridge.
FC Dallas striker Petar Musa earned his place after scoring 12 goals in 13 MLS regular-season matches this season.
The MLS All-Stars will take on the best players from Mexico’s Liga MX on July 29 in Charlotte.
