Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has officially received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following his victory in the recently concluded governorship election.
The presentation took place at the INEC headquarters in Ado-Ekiti, marking another significant milestone in the state’s political journey.
While presenting the certificate, INEC officials congratulated Oyebanji on his re-election and praised residents of Ekiti State for maintaining peace throughout the electoral process.
The commission noted that the successful conduct of the election reflected the collective efforts of stakeholders committed to strengthening democracy.
Receiving the certificate, Oyebanji expressed appreciation to the people of Ekiti for renewing his mandate, describing the outcome as a victory for democracy, development and good governance.
“The renewed mandate is a call to greater service and dedication to the welfare of the people.”
The governor also thanked President Bola Tinubu, APC leaders, traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil servants, security agencies and voters for their support during the election.
According to Oyebanji, his re-election represents a historic achievement, as he becomes the first governor in Ekiti State to secure consecutive electoral victories through the ballot.
Looking ahead, he pledged to build on the achievements of his first term by expanding investments in key sectors including infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and job creation.
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to the state’s Shared Prosperity Agenda, promising policies aimed at improving the lives of residents and driving sustainable development across Ekiti.
The ceremony attracted party leaders, government officials, traditional rulers and supporters who gathered to celebrate the governor’s victory.
