Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has described the outcome of the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency by-election as an important indicator of the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) standing ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement released after the poll, the governor said the election demonstrated the continued support of voters for the APC and its policies.
According to Yusuf, the peaceful conduct of the exercise and voter participation reflected confidence in the ruling party and its leadership.
He praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for overseeing what he described as a credible process and also commended security agencies for maintaining peace throughout the election.
The governor congratulated the APC candidate on his victory and urged him to justify the trust placed in him by constituents through quality representation.
Yusuf further argued that the by-election result reinforces the APC’s position as a major political force in Kano State ahead of future electoral contests.
He also took a swipe at opposition parties, claiming the election exposed their lack of grassroots support in the state.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to implementing development projects and improving the welfare of residents across Kano.
He equally congratulated President Bola Tinubu and APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, on the party’s performance in recent by-elections.
